Beth + Gregor tie the knot in edinburgh city chambers in the perfect, intimate, micro-wedding

On Saturday 11th February this year, Beth and Gregor tied the knot at Edinburgh City Chambers in a beautiful intimate ceremony with just their immediate family and honestly, it was perfection.

When they first contacted me at the end of November, the couple explained that they were planning a low-key, laid back event, but were still wanting to incorporate some more personal elements including prep at the bride’s family home and a first look with her wonderful dad (who was on Prosecco duty on the morning of the wedding!).

On The Day

Shooting bridal prep in the bride’s childhood bedroom felt beautifully personal and bride got ready along-side her mum as well as her mother-in-law & sister-in-laws to be!

Once in her beautiful dress, we had a first look with her dad before heading out into a pair of vintage cars to make our way to the City Chambers in the heart of Old Town where they said their “I do’s” in the European Room after a lovely reading by Beth’s Mum.

The royal mile

After the ceremony, we all made our way out onto the Royal Mile where we inadvertently gatecrashed a Just Stop Oil protest that was making it’s way down the street. The drums were banging and people cheering as Beth and Gregor walked across the street to a wall of confetti. And as is always the way with City Chambers weddings - lots of tourists taking pictures!

The vennel

It was after confetti and groups that we waved goodbye to their guests for a short time while we went and got some pictures around the City after a very short-lived rain shower. Beth was particularly keen to explore the Vennel as she’d gone to school next door, so off we went in our vintage cars and got “the shot” before returning the happy couple to Hotel Du Vin to be reunited with their family for an evening of celebrations!
