C+L’s city Chambers wedding

chloe + Luca got married at Edinburgh City Chambers before taking a wander through the Edinburgh Streets before their reception at the Cheval Edinburgh Grand in New Town

After watching the weather forecast all week, none of us were hopeful for that dry a day on the day of Chloe and Luca’s Edinburgh City Chambers wedding, so much so that Chloe’s Mum showed up with her arms full of brollies. But we needn’t have worried! The city pulled it out the bag in what turned out to be the perfect spring day to wander.

We started by meeting at City Chambers, where, apparently for the first time ever, Chloe was there before the usually extremely prompt Luca! So she ran inside to hide before he arrived as the couples friends and families filtered in to the Alexander Suite as well.

When Luca arrived, it was clear the nerves were starting to kick in, especially when I shared with him that Chloe requested he cry upon seeing her walking down the aisle! Don’t worry - I think she was joking. His huge grin was just as good.

After the ceremony we headed out to do group shots and this lot were up for it. The perfect reminder that group shots don’t have to be boring (hence why I never call them ‘Family Formals’ - yuck!)

Now, confetti isn’t allowed at City Chambers, so we headed out onto the Royal Mile where tourists flocked over the road to see the happy couple - super cute.

Then it was time for us to sneak off for some pictures. We went to the arches of the Court Of Session before heading on up the Royal Mile to Victoria Terrace and Victoria Street then back to Advocates Close where Chloe braved the 9 million steps in her gorgeous gold platforms - but it was worth it for the cherry blossom that waited for us at the bottom!

After a quick jaunt through Princes Street Gardens and round St Andrews Square, it was time to rejoin their friends and family at Cafe Royal on West Register Street before circling back round to The Cheval Edinburgh Grand where their reception lunch was waiting for them! Then, it was time for me to go (it’s amazing what you can squeeze into 2 and a half hours!) but rumour has it the couple moved onto a friends bar in town and ordered pizza - my kinda people!

What more could you want from an Edinburgh City Chambers wedding, on a perfect spring day? It was perfect!
