A colourful edinburgh city wedding

Step into the unique wedding of Ellen & Mitch as they journeyed from London to Edinburgh for their alternative wedding. Choosing the city that held sentimental value, they exchanged vows at Edinburgh City Chambers, creating a day as vibrant and genuine as Ellen's handmade lilac dress!

A Return to the Beginning

Discover why Edinburgh became the backdrop for Ellen and Mitch's love story. Tying the knot on the anniversary of their first date, this couple decided to celebrate in the city that marked the beginning of their relationship.

House Of God's Hotel

Get a sneak peek into the preparations at House Of God's hotel in Cowgate. I love the intimate moments before an elopement ceremony as couples get ready and prepare together. The bougie House of God’s hotel provided a heap of charm for the occasion and from a photographers standpoint, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful!

Saying "I Do" at Edinburgh City Chambers

E&M opted for a ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers. Nestled in the heart of the Royal Mile, it’s a great option for eloping couples that want to celebrate in the City Centre.

A Casual Stroll Through Edinburgh

After the ceremony, the three of us wandered through the heart of Edinburgh, capturing candid moments against the city's iconic backdrops. This casual stroll allowed us to document the true essence of their love in a natural and unposed way which pretty much sums up my approach!

Casual Celebrations

Time for cake and Champagne! The celebration continued at the hotel, where Ellen and Mitch cut their cake (which was the CUTEST!) and popped champagne. We opted for an editorial flash photography approach for this part of the day to really highlight the venue but also my couple’s pure JOY!

Ellen and Mitch's alternative wedding in Edinburgh was a celebration of authenticity, love, and genuine connection.

I truly couldn’t recommend Lou more as a photographer. She captured our secret elopement exactly the way I wanted - full of love and joy and colour. As a plus size bride, there is always the worry that the photographer won’t capture you the way you want and you’ll be disappointed when you see the photos, but I have loved every single one I’ve seen so far. (As has my husband!)

Lou is full of smiles and positive energy and is so warm and kind and was a welcome addition to our tiny yet special day. ❤️
